The compact CHP units of the 50 kW class built by SOKRATHERM for decades are most commonly found in operation. They are mainly installed in mid-sized hotels, swimming pools, district heating centers, schools and nursing homes. By integrating the switchgear inside the sound absorbing case SOKRATHERM was the first producer of compact ready-to-connect CHP units.
With its especially compact dimensions (l x b x h = 220 x 90 x 180 cm) the GG 50 is the smallest ready-to-connect CHP unit of the 50 kW class and makes the installation possible also in narrow heating centers. Since late 2016 it is, just as the FG 34, equipped in series with an intergrated heating water pump and return rise. With the application of a condensing heat exchanger the GG 50 can reach up to 101 kW thermal power and up to 104.2 % total efficiency.
Prominent application examples are the installations in the Irish Cork Institute of Technology (CIT), the German-Polish district heating of Frankfurt a.d. Oder / Słubice
(German article,1.93 MB) or the double CHP plant (GG 50 + GG 70) in the alpine hotel Zechmeisterlehen (German article,1.73 MB).
In this class, the CHPmobile variant is realized most frequently. In this variant the CHP unit is mounted on a trailer and can be set up at two sites – for example in a school building in the winter and at an outdoor swimming pool in the summer, as they did with the power plant on wheels in Waldmohr (German article 24.4 kB).
Natural gas: GG 50, GG 70
Sewage gas: FG 34, FG 50
The compact CHP units of the 50 kW class have all core characteristics of SOKRATHERM cogeneration units:
or short: Compact, efficient and reliable.
