World’s first compact CHP module of the 700 kW class
Compact CHP unit GG 710
With the new compact CHP unit GG 710 we have manufactured the world’s first cogeneration unit of the 700 kW class built in compact design. Equipped with a modern turbocharged 12-cylinder MAN engine, the CHP unit delivers an electrical output of 710 kW with an outstanding electrical efficiency of 42.4%. The thermal output is 779 kW and can be increased to up to 926 kW with a condensing heat exchanger. The overall efficiency reaches 89.0% and with a condensing heat exchanger even up to 97.8%.
The CHP unit is delivered in a ready-to-connect, soundproof enclosure, which also integrates the control cabinet with fully automatic control and internet-based remote monitoring. The compact CHP module design with a footprint of just 7 m² minimizes both the space required in the installation room and the effort required for transport and installation. This makes it ideally suited for the highly efficient energy supply of large hospitals, industrial plants, district heating networks, and numerous other facilities. This CHP unit type is also available as the FG 710 for equipping large water purification plants or biogas plants.
The first unit produced has successfully completed all functional and performance tests on our test bench in Nordhausen. As the most powerful compact CHP module, the GG 710 is also the new SOKRATHERM flagship. In this respect, it replaces the GG 530, which we introduced in 2012 and continue to manufacture. The GG 530 now supplies over fifty facilities with environmentally friendly power and heat, and, in special versions with accessoires, also with emergency power and cooling. One of the first GG 530 units built and installed 2013 in Hamburg’s „energy bunker“ has long since exceeded 80,000 operating hours. Since commissioning, it has generated more than 40 million kWh of green electricity and approximately 55 million kWh of green heat from biomethane for the surrounding residential area.
