Starting from 10 February 2026, we will will be presenting our solutions for sustainable heat and power supply in Hall 2, Stand E105, for three days at the leading fair for the energy sector E-world in Essen (Germany).
As a supplier of combined heat and power (CHP) units and heat pumps (HP), we will be exhibiting the highly efficient GG 70 VRS compact CHP unit with integrated condensing technology. This type has already been used in numerous projects, such as the Budersand Hotel on Sylt, the Osnabrück District Court, numerous clinics and heating centres.
The interaction between cogeneration units and heat pumps is particularly impressive in the supply of the Alanbrooke district in Paderborn: From January onwards, a biomethane-powered GG 202 compact CHP unit will, together with a brine/water and an air/water heat pump, generate particularly efficient renewable energy for a residential quarter with over 800 flats on the former barracks site. By preheating the 4 °C cold brine using a condensing heat exchanger, the CHP achieves an outstanding efficiency of up to 98.3 %, based on the calorific value of the gas.
In addition to residential areas, CHP and HP can also supply local heating networks, public buildings, hotels and numerous other properties with renewable heat and electricity, efficiently and cost-efficiently. The MiniManager Plus control system, developed in-house by SOKRATHERM, selects CHP and HP individually or together precisely when they are the best option. The CHP unit mainly runs when outside temperatures are very low and renewable electricity is scarce and expensive. The heat pump is primarily operated when air temperatures are milder and electricity generation from renewable energy sources is high. The avoidance of electricity-intensive heat pump operation at very cold outside temperatures make sure that heat is provided very economically.
In addition, SOKRATHERM cogeneration units are a particularly environmentally friendly option for a sustainable energy supply, as they can also be operated with biomethane, biogas, sewage gas or even hydrogen.
