These days we all take thermal energy, electricity, heat and light for granted. With rising energy prices and environmental problems it is becoming clear that energy cannot be wasted and that it must be produced ecologically and used economically. Generating energy should not waste resources or produce harmful emissions.

SOKRATHERM Since its establishment in the 1970's SOKRATHERM has been taking this issue very seriously. For over 30 years we have been developing modern technologies to produce electricity and heat with state-of-the-art clean technologies and a strict focus on the economic benefit for our customers – always ahead of our competitors. We produce fully wired Combined Heat and Power Generation (CHP) units which need little space and work very quietly. The CHP units use the primary energy extremely efficiently and produce much less harmful substances than conventional power plants. With the help of our advanced modular technology, we have achieved an energy efficiency that even surpasses the energy utilisation of other cogeneration plants.

We offer customized solutions for use in buildings of almost any size: housing estates, hospitals, swimming pools, administration buildings, schools and homes for the elderly. With special equipment, they can also be used as emergency power generators or for air-conditioning. On site operated CHPs produce electricity and heat exactly where they are needed: on the spot, without transportation losses.

This energy-saving technology helps alleviate the greenhouse effect considerably and by using gas the output of harmful substances is limited. Compared to the conventional supply of energy, CHP's can save almost 40% of primary energy and produce about 60% less CO₂.

Our CHP units can be fuelled with natural gas, sewer gas, landfill gas and biogas.
